Steering group
CNSI is formally administered by NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research. The NIOZ director, mandated by the NIOZ Board, carries responsibility for the day-to-day management, policy-making and implementation of CNSI. The day-to-day management of CNSI is carried out by the CNSI director. In support of its formal responsibilities the NIOZ Board endorsed a Steering Group consisting of members representing organisations that are relevant to the development of CNSI. The CNSI director is secretary to the Steering Group. The NIOZ Board and the NIOZ director are observers in the Steering Group.
The Steering Group advises the NIOZ Board and verifies the implementation of CNSI policy and tasks according to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Island Government of St Eustatius, as expressed in annual reports, financial accountability, year plans and budgets. The Steering Group also advises on follow-up of commitments of stakeholders to build, exploit and uphold the facility.
